I am a composer, pianist and improviser. In my scores I use conventional, verbal and graphic notation or any combination of these. Especially my verbal/graphic pieces are mainly open form scores that encourage collaboration and collective decisions between the performers. My PhD research was also investigating the mechanisms of decision making in music groups.
My music has been played in numerous festivals and concerts in Europe, U.S.A. and Canada. I have worked as a composer with ensembles like Snim Ensemble for Improvised Music (Austria), Ensemble Wiener Collage (Austria), Ensemble x.y. (U.K), InEnsemble (Russia), 113 Composers Collective (U.S.A.), The extradiction Series (U.S.A.), Molinari Quartet (Canada), Dissonart Ensemble (Greece), 6daEXIt Improvisation Ensemble (Greece), WHI ensemble (Greece) and with perfomers like Daniel Barbiero, Giorgos Kokkinaris, Annette Giesriegl and many others. As a performer I am playing regularly with 6daEXIt Improvisation Ensemble, WHI ensemble and I have performed together with a large number of improvisers in Greece, Serbia and Austria.
I studied Composition in Bath Spa University/UK (PhD, 2016), supervised by James Saunders. I also studied Composition with Gerd Kühr (MA, 2002), Beat Furrer (Postgraduate, 2004) and Mathias Spahlinger (Klangwege 2003) in University for Music and Performing Arts Graz/Austria. Selected prizes and awards include: 1st Prize in the Franco Evangelisti International Composition Competition 2020, 3d Prize in the Second International Composition Competition for String Quartet by Molinari Quartet 2005, State grand for Composition of the Republic of Austria and the Music Award of the city of Graz, the Scholarship for special academic achievements of the Austrian Ministry of Science and Culture and the Carl Michael Ziehrer Trust Scholarship.
